WOYWW

Otherwise known as What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday, hosted by Julia Dunnit over at Stamping Ground.  Linky: http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/.  (You can really tell I'm new to Blogger, huh?)

I've been enjoying the weekly look at other people's workspaces, and this week you can see mine in all its messy glory. 

First up: a tiny percentage of the pen stash, plus a box of little charms.  There are some little Eiffel Towers, and Arc de Triomphes (Arcs de Triomphe?) which are going onto the ribbon tie of a Paris box file that I'm decoupaging. 

You can also see my enormous and bulging diary, full of thoughts on what to make next, pictures, receipts, and anything else designed to give me a hernia if I have to carry it around.




This is the very messy bit of the desk: lots of scissors, pencil cases, the laptop (of which more later), strawberry flavoured water, and M&S Earl Grey shortbread.  The last two are essential for all crafting. 



Then there's papier mache in progress.  These little bowls will be desk and dressing table tidies, after painting and decoupage has been added.



So this morning I logged on bright and early at 7am GMT hoping to get some blogging and blog visiting done early.  And my inconsiderate laptop has thrown a wobbly, requiring a visit from the tecchie tomorrow afternoon.  I've borrowed my husband's PC to post this (my thumb keeps searching for the non -existent touch pad and the mouse is not wanting to play), and much as I'm appreciating the loan, I do so miss my lappy.  So please may I extend apologies in advance for not visiting other participants yet - hopefully, I'll be up and running soon...

    I always make notes on what to make next and any ideas I have for cards, especially in the middle of the night LOL. I have that little container too for my buttons. Thanks for the snoop. Tracy Evans (18).

    Just wanted to say hi and thanks for dropping by. Happy WOYWW to you all. I'm determined that I will get round to everyone's blogs this week - it's fascinating stuff. I love seeing how other people work.

    The lappy's medic is due this afternoon, so hopefully I will be back to full blogging soon, instead of pinching the OH's PC while he's asleep.

    Anne - I think Hermione has just blushed.

    Show and Tell Wednesday? That's brilliant: it will stop me procrastinating, and make me get on with decorating those papier mache pots. Plus I have no excuse to spend too long online as the laptop is still poorly, and has been taken away by the nice techie for a "stress test". Fortunately, he didn't offer me one of my own.

    Crafty Womble - I'm loving that name. My mum used to make womble pencil cases when I was at school, and they always sold out at craft fairs. Back in the mists of time, I did appear as Orinoco at the local carnival (complete with scarf, tidy bag and a puce complexion - it could get very hot in that nose...)

    Undoubtedly further crafting confessions will follow.

    S- it's already proving way too addictive. My husband's gone to London for the day, and rather cheekily I've pinched his PC this morning while my laptop is being mended.

    That's very observant about the plugs too. It's not quite as gadgety as it appears, as they have my lamp, laptop, printer and a spare for scanner/mobile/whatever. (Or even the tv/music when I'm doing stuff that gets a bit monotonous, like making a lot of papier mache blanks. Not much I can do while up to my wrists in PVA, water and newsprint.)

    Anyway, thanks for sharing your really interesting desk. I was only reading about making papier mache bowls today and wondering whether I should have a go, what a coincidence.
