WOYWW: the Chief Elf Speaks
For the past three days, I've been working on a big package for our godchildren. This morning, they should be waking up to meet the delightful Della Sparkle Feet and Bert Speedy Pants, who are joining them for Elf School in December.
Their first job will be to find their igloo, which is being hidden somewhere in The House With The Big Climbing Frame, where the elves are staying. Then there are plenty of fun tasks and mischief to take them through to Elf Graduation Day on 24 December.
And now I've packed away my cotton wool, glitter, embellishments, craft paper and all the other makings, I have an important role. For December, I shall be responsible for the Chief Elf's email address, helping with the care of Della and Bert, and answering questions on all things elven. I can feel my ears turning pointy as I type.
For a hop round more crafty desks, at What's on Your Workspace Wednesday, hop over to the lovely Julia at Stamping Ground using the WOYWW button on the left.

I had a text from their mum at 7am to say that the elf arrival was a great success. They are heading into town this morning to buy scrapbooks to record all their adventures.
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely bringing out the big kid in me!
I hope you make them eat an 'elfy' breakfast each morning - and especially to send them on their way to their new assignment!!!
ReplyDeleteAre they related to the 7 dwarves? A slight resemblence is making me feel they could be cousins or second cousins! LOL

Well spotted, Paula. ;-) Bert is a teeny bit Grumpy, and Della is less Grumpy following a beardectomy and a change of clothes.
ReplyDelete(I lost count of how many shops we tried for an elf. If only I was good with a needle...)
Oh my what fun and what a fab investment of time you've made - it will be so much fun for them - and you too then. Pointy ears are a good thing, and I just love the names. Keep us up dated!
ReplyDeleteWhat cute elves, the Godchildren will love them.
ReplyDeleteI saw a kingfisher on the River Thames at Shillingford last week, it really made my day and aren't fieldfares gorgeous?
Have fun.

Thank you so much for your lovely words - It is such a horrible thing to be in the middle of and I am grateful in a way that Timothy is so young and oblivious. I agree it may very well be worth visiting a doctor I will be having a meeting with victim support next week and I am hoping they willl have good advice. As for the recording equipment etc we are so down the bottom of the pile on police lists we don't even register for them. That said Whitefriars are our leasehold owner and responsible for the social tenant who lives below us as well as providing us with a safe and secure and good quality of life. They have been palming us off so far and this time it is not going to work.
ReplyDeleteI think the elves are fantastic and it is wonderful they were so well recieved. I hope to start many wonderful traditions as Timothy gets older.
What a wonderful idea!!! These elves are adorable - and I'm pretty sure they are well cared for in your place.
ReplyDeleteLove your little elves, or snow white dwarfs they remind me of, really cute,Happy WOYWW!!

Can I be on the Elf and safety committee111 Mrs A.#132
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your lovely comments. I was feeling a bit daft, but now I know it's good daft rather than the bad kind!
ReplyDeleteSherry, my mum has provided me with my elf hat, so my little pointies are nicely warm.
Mrs A - if you are on the Elf and Safety Committee, you will need to be wearing the appropriate safety gear (either penguin or snowman ear warmers, as provided in the Elf Goody Box). Can't wait to see the pictures when they get worn to supervise a visit to the Big Climbing Frame.
What a fab idea, bet the children and loving their new pals!
