WOYWW: The Mega-Making Edition

So it's been a busy week.  The big boxes of makes have been unloaded, reviewed, repacked and listed ready for the fair on Sunday.  Another list has been drawn up of things to make, and a fair amount of knuckling down has taken place. (Scary, huh?)

This time, I managed to get my act together at an earlier stage (although I did have just over 24 hours notice before my first craft fair), and ordered some bags for my bigger items.  I'd read some helpful suggestions at the Craftster forum about decorating your own bags, so I spent a happy hour stamping away on the bags and some labels for smaller paper bags.  I must admit to being taken with the flowers as part of the font; what do you reckon?

As Sunday's fair isn't exclusively a craft fair, I've been ferreting amongst my vintage finds with the intention of mixing vintage items amongst the crafty makes.  It'll be a voyage of discovery, but then most of this business stuff is exactly that at present.

For any of you with teenagers, I'd love to know what you think they might buy in terms of makes.  I have decorated box files, pen boxes and journals underway.  Any other thoughts?  Should I abandon production of anything I've started?

I'll show you more of the makes and the production process later this week.  Unusually, I've found myself a bit quiet this week, but I'm sure it won't last....

To see more crafty desks, head on over to Chief Desk Inspector Julia Dunnit at the WOYWW button to the left.

  10. Love the bag - simple and effective. Can't help you with suggestions for teens - they can be so fickle, liking one thing one moment and then it's so yesterday the next :) However, I would say the stationery items you are making are good. Good luck with the craft fair. Elizabeth x #79

  13. Brilliant idea with the flowers on the font.Clear and stylish. Can't wait to see what you have made. Teens like to have initials on their stuff. Printed, glued or just hanging if that helps. Good luck on Sunday.

  15. Thank you all for the suggestions for teens and good wishes for the fair - much appreciated! I'll show you what I've done on Saturday, when the production line grinds to a halt here. (And when I finally get all the ink out from under my nails - I'm wondering when the keyboard here will start changing colour...)

  18. As Mum of a teenage girl - you are definitely on the right track with stationary. She is obsessed with journals, notebooks, pens etc, etc. Also what about mirrors? Compacts, wall mirrors. She can't walk past a shiny surface without checking out her hair. And cute stuff with absolutely no purpose... That Japanese inspired type cute - the stuff that gives me toothache just looking at it - keyrings, phone danglies.

How exciting, can't wait to read how you got on.

  19. Eek! I have mirrors, I have keyrings to make if I get to them tomorrow, AND I have just ordered one of those Kawaii books off eBay to see if it gives me ideas...

Carmen - glad to hear I'm heading in the right direction. Will apply the toothache test =;-)

Vickie - Glad to hear about the grungy stuff, as I have a fair amount of that, including goblet candles and the like. Will take some pics!
